As the spies return with this terrible, tragic and damning report about the holy land of Israel, the people begin to cry. The people gather around Moshe and Aaron. We're not going to be able to overtake those big giants in the land. Why did we even come here in the first place? We're all going to be slaughtered man, woman and child. Let us just go back to Egypt. It's hopeless. A bitter, tragic, never-ending, pain-filled cry on that night of Tisha B'Av, the ninth of Av, as the sages tell us, but then, like two dark nights, standing up for Hashem's honor, kolev and Yehoshua, they tell the people get a hold of yourselves, listen to yourselves.
0:59 We traversed this land and it is a very, very good land. In fact, it's flowing with milk and honey and we have nothing to fear for. God is here. And those big, strong warriors and those big, impenetrable and formidable walls that surround the country, they're nothing, for God's on our side, people, we can do this. And then listen to this incredible piece of work, a motivational speech that is truly epic and what is really one of the greatest pieces of trash talk ever to be spoken by mortal man. 1:41 People do not rebel. V'atem al-tiru es amha'aretz, don't fear these enemies. Why? Why shouldn't you fear them? Ki lachmeinu heim, for they are bread, lechem, lechem. Yeshua and Kalev depicted and described God's enemies, these big giants, as nothing more than an inanimate, plain, edible piece of bread. Sar Tzilem Alem. They don't have a shield, they have no hope. But we, we Hashem Etonu is with us.

And it's something incredible that we see here that we know that we are supposed to be faithful and trust in Hashem when we are fighting His wars, that when we are trying, endeavoring to accomplish something great for the sake of heaven, there is no place for uneasiness, no place for unrest, no thoughts of possible catastrophe, because the enemy is lachmenu. They are just bread, nothing more than a crustless, sourdough roll, nothing more than a soft, moldy pumpernickel bagel.
3:03 Lachmenuu heim, it says. Let us remember that. We know that we mustn't be afraid because God is with us. So Joshua and Kalev said don't rebel, keep Hashem on our side, and everyone else will just literally turn into nothing more than a hollow roll. This should be our mindset when we fight for the will of Hashem and we fight for heaven's sake, because when we have that, all of our enemies turn into nothing more than inanimate. Inanimate objects, nothing more than just a small piece of bread.
