With the permission of the rov, with the permission of the family. This night is like my father said, uh, it's unique because Mesehta Kasubis in and of itself is probably my biggest accomplishment in my life. And that is coming from the position that the Mesehta itself is is is dense and it's long and because the amount that went into it to get to this point took a lot of effort and not just effort of my own. Uh specifically, I'd like to say that we're coming together very notably for the tenth yard side of my safta. And it is important to before we get into the taira and the last Gemara subis to understand exactly what we're here coming together for, like my father said. So I would like to specifically mention that the taira that was learned and the time that was spent learning it and the effort that was given towards its study should specifically attach itself to the soul of my softa and give her a spiritual ascendance in heaven because she was the one who started the ball rolling in this whole Jewish religious Talmud kind of thing. And with her, it's a lot easier to keep the ball rolling than it is to get it to start rolling. So it should be a it should be a melee seisha for us, and it should be very positive for her up in Shemayim and give her Nishama a spiritual ascendance up in heaven. Alrighty.

What Finishing Ketubot Took

When I think about finishing Bsahtakusubis, we're gonna learn the last Gemara. I would like to explain a bit about what Bisakhtak Subis means to me, give you a quick uh summary of the 112 pages, just go through line by line and uh tell you what it's about a little bit, but really now we're gonna go chick-chalk through here. Uh-huh, is a very, very important masakhta to me, specifically because there are many parts of the msehta that are different to me. Parts of this msehtah I learned so deeply, and they were part of my best years in Kolo. And part of this mesehta, I spent my one to two nights a week night satur with Arebbi, trying to get through just with a very basic level understanding of what the Gemara's question is and what the Gemara's answer. So the Gemara itself, from A to Z very much is a part of the last five years of my life. That's how long it took me to learn it. Each stage that I learned the Mashta demanded something different. And Kolo, when I learned the Masekta, every single Rashi and every single line of the Gemara had to be sifted through and understood deeper and deeper. And every single line that I had to fight to be able to be a part of as I was a broker, it meant turning off your phones and turning off your connection to the outside world to fully give your attention, to understand one clear question of what the Gemara wanted and one clear answer. Both took, in my honest opinion, similar amounts of effort. And both are as important of an accomplishment to me than any of the Masakta. Whether it was a line uh a step deeper in how the next line of the Gemara was learned by the Rajbah, or whether it just was to show up for the night seder to be able to go another half of an omelet further, both came with the same amount or certain amount of effort, and they both mean it's around the same amount to me. Msachtik Subis, for those who don't know, is made up of 13 frakim. It is the second msehta in Seder Nashim. I have Islaika to finish almost all of Seder Nashim except for Yavamas because that's not part of Renussenstein's Yeshiva curriculum. But maybe one day we'll get there. And Mesehta Ksubis is it it was sent to me at a at the right time to be able to learn all about marriage when you get married, to learn all about a person's well, the right starts with the right day to get married, and moves its way into the obligations of marriage. It moves its way into the laws of believability, and well, just uh I I I did gather up a couple different Gemaras and Msahtik Subas I wanted to highlight before we make the Seam, just so that it would give me a little bit of the Chazaras Ha Misahta.

Favorite Sugyot And Human Lessons

When I think about learning Misahtik Subis, the Gemara that I probably spent most time on was Daf Tes and Daf Yod and understanding the intricacies of the most Lumdish Umud that I ever had the chance to learn in Kolel, Daf uh Yud Bez, when we learned about Bari Vishema, which is uh was was two months in yeshiva, that we had to deal with what happens if I'm confident and I have this utmost I know that you owe me money, and the other uh litigant is unsure if he owes me money. How much do we weigh the law of certainty in a tain? Uh in Daf Tezvov, I learned all about what you do in the famous case of a roiv versus a kavua, when you have tests, and you have one piece of nevela, and you have other stores made up of kosher meat, and you have to understand where a doubt comes from and how a doubt arises and it could change the halakh's entirety. Daft uh is the most recent um and I learned in its depth with Rabbi uh with Rabbi Bragg, where we learned all about Happeh, Sha'asar, who Apeh Shahitr, and that if you're the source of the believable claim, then there's a certain amount of reliance upon that claim that we need to stick with, depending on how you understand it. But that also was was when I think about my best years of life, when I was living in a basement in Lakewood and had one kid and one wife, and and life was and life is simple, and it just was about Hapesha Usar Wapesha Hitter and how to learn the next step in the Gemara. Those are the the the memories that I'll forever cherish in Ms. There's also I'm a I'm a big fan of the Musar world, and there's a fair amount of Musir Gemaralach that you'll find that teach human lessons and and proper character traits. Uh specifically, I'd like to point out the the Daf uh Tez Zayan and moving on to the the top of the next Umr, when the Gemara asks Kit San Marakdin the Fna Kalah, how you should dance in front of a Kala. I thought it was appropriate to highlight that Gemara because Abai and Rubba uh Baishama and Baishilla have a very passionate machis about what truth means. And I thought it was also apropos to bring it uh in place of my softa. But I think my softa paskin like Baishama, in that you have to tell the truth no matter what. If the kala isn't Noah Bachasuda, you gotta say it like it is. Uh, you just have to tell the truth. Always afta valued MS, and she cared about people, and she cared about what the truth was. I I'd also like to point out the Gemara uh Mesek in in Daf um in Samh Bays, where we get the whole story about Raby Akiva, that anybody knows from Rabbi Akiva that when he finally came home and his wife was there and all the Tamidim were there, and it was 12 years that he went away, and then another 12 years that he came back, and finally uh, you know, there's this lady kind of crawling through the crowd to say hello to this rabbi, and all the boys, all the Bakram push this lady away, and then eventually Rabbi Akiva reveals and says that Shaliv is Shalchem, Shallahu. This is my wife, this is everything. She's she's everything, and that definitely is going to come up in the future of this talk. We're gonna have a lot to say about that Gemara. But Shal Reeb is Shal Kham Shallah is a very important Gemara Mustafiksubis. Uh, Daf. Samek Zayan tells us about when you had a support people in Mosur, that you have to be able to give de maqsoiro, that when you when you try, when somebody is a wealthy person and only drives an LS 460 or a Genesis G90, and then suddenly they fall onto tough times, and then you want to support them again, and you want to give them a cheap car to drive. The Gamora wants you, asks better of you, and says, no. De Machsoiro means you have to give them what is sufficient honor for him. And maybe people don't know that he fell into tough times, but you have to give him according to what his honor would be. So you gotta go and try to find the find the financial capacity and help to be able to give him what he needs to feel like a mensch. And even Hilal himself ran before the the Gomorrah story in order to trumpet and and make the fellow feel good about himself. Mar Ukva taught us uh later on in that Ummud that sometimes you don't embarrass people and you never embarrass people. And even if it's a chance to embarrass somebody, you jump into a fiery furnace or a cooling fort furnace just to be able to prevent yourself from embarrassing somebody. Uh, some of the most memorable blat that I learned is in Dafkov Gimel and Kop Dalid, where I learned about the final days of Rabbeinu Hakadesh's life, which was this very incredible story where there's this battle between life and death, and how and the Bez of Shal Maila wants Rabbein al-Khadesh, but we want him down here and kind of came down to a maid servant to decide how it was all gonna go. And that was another incredible Gemara I learned in uh Kol Shimshin after a mincha, after a good deal closed, and that Gemarah means a lot to me. Uh, then we learned a Gemara on Daf uh Kuf Yud Bays that many people know, and Rashi brings it. I think it's a Mishpatim, but it says, Toyiv Hamalbin Shinayim Khavir Yasir, Bimashko Khalov, where Baycharan tells us that it's just a very important thing to smile to somebody. You can do a lot with a good smile. And I do want to highlight that gimara as a as a as an aspect that my softa had as well. That sometimes a good smile is worth a lot more than cold milk, even though my soft liked the milk very cold. My softta was somebody that always would uh would care about you and ask you about your kharusas, even if she had intense chemotherapy that day. She cared about the smile. And um at the end of uh Siam, it is something that I want to quickly finish the Mesefta. And then I want to give a couple thank yous. And hopefully the Bayra Ailam is happy in the amount of time and effort that I put into making a Siam. And um with that, I'd like to finish the Mesefta. Dafkofi Days, Shneidini, very important parrot to me. I learned it on Friday mornings. Friday mornings is the hardest time to learn at a very good Kharusa, and we learned it very stark, and we learned the the the precision that jurisprudence Jewish Jewish prudence has. You could you could even have the slightest bit of uh of a leniency towards one person. You could give somebody a hand, we'll give somebody a hand to lift them off of a boat, and that already made impossible as a Dayan. The ability that that that that uh proper Dayan has, and he's not gonna everything in the way that he doesn't even trust himself to think clearly. Um is very I I it's parak Sna Dayanim or Shay Daini is a parac that I know better than some of the other Praktim.

The first people I'd like to thank for Mustapha K Subis is my parents who paid for Yeshiva, who gave me endless attention, care, and concern, who pushed me when I needed to be pushed, who believed in me when no one else believed in me, and who understood what I needed in order to be able to succeed. They taught me what it means to be obsessive in your love of your child, to care in a way that no one else cares. And even when it wasn't my best day, all they did was want the best for me. And to this day, Ms. a big hailic of it, is attributed totally to theirsum. There is a merit that I'd like to point out to an anonymous sponsor. Uh, they have a tremendous in this entire msehta, and the five years that went into meshtaksubis should be a part of their merit for etern eternality. Eternity to my eternality for the most important person in the seal would be my Rabitzin. When I think about the entire Gemara that the when I think about when I think about what went into uh Mashta, and I think about the Gemara in Masafta Ksubis, where uh Rabbi Akiva came back after 12 years and then another 12 years, and his rebutzin pushed her way through the crowd, and the boys pushed her away, but then bef but then Rabbi Akiva said, All that's mine and yours is hers, that is um very apropos for this. All that is in this meshta and all of the hours that went towards its study, all of the um um diligence that went into it on it's it's it's very easy to put a goal to learn on a musehta, but Lakewood winters are brutally cold. And when you're learning um ailoniris on Tuesday night and it's it's 25 degrees and the base measures is half empty, but your wife says, What are you doing? We made a commitment, let's get this going. I'll make dinner for the kids, I'll make sure they go to sleep. You get your backside to Beish Muel. Um, that's something that only a person's Rebutzin can do, and that's something that my Rebutin definitely did. She is much more religious than I am, and she is um uh uh a bubbly Evit Hashem. The Siam belongs not just to me, but to the both of us. And it should be that our Shalom Bayas and our uh whatever um progress we've made together should be as chus to help baby Ruchum and uh Hindaliba and uh Bracha do really great things for Hashem and all the other future Kindle Lakhamir to Hashem.
