Tisha B'Av 2023: The Loss of the Sacred Homestead of Prayer

As Tisha B'Av is on the horizon, we're all left wondering, what did the Beis Hamikdash truly signify? Why does its absence tug at our hearts so much? Unravel the mystique of the Beis Hamikdash in this episode where we grasp its significance beyond being a site for offering Karbonos: a heavenly conduit for our prayers. Weaved with a song for deeper resonance, the episode brings forth insights from Rashi and Redak, compelling us to view the Beis Hamikdash as a holy abode that served as a divine portal for our prayers, connecting us to the heavens.  As Tisha B'Av nears, we're encouraged to amplify our prayers, compensating for the emptiness left by the destruction of the Beis Hamikdash. Tune in and enrich your Tisha B'Av preparations with a deeper appreciation of the Beis Hamikdash and its profound significance.

Speaker 1:

With Tisha bit of rapidly approaching. It is crucial that we get an understanding and a feeling for what the base Hamidish truly was, what it represents to us, to therefore maybe get a little bit of a tom of flavor for what we are sitting on the floor and crying about and crave to be rebuilt so badly. When you examine at the end of Chronicles 2, divrei Hayyamim Be'ez, shlomo HaMelaach Tifila, after he put his finishing touches on the base Hamidish, you'll see something interesting that you don't always immediately connect with the base Hamidish. But to begin this idea, let's just jump in with a song. Maybe it'll make it a bit more practical and resonate some more. The HaViyoyi Semelar Kodshi. The base Hamidish, a place that we would bring Carbonos to. We want to go up to this holy homestead, the Simachden. Let us rejoice bit base Tifila. What the base Hamidish was, it was a house of prayer, oh, you like saying vis-e-ve-cheyem l'Rotem al-Mizbechi Carbonos ki-beisi, for it was a house, a holy home, a humble abode of a base Tifila. The holo-ama was a house of Tifila for everyone. Rashi tells us and say for a boreshish that truly above the base Hamidish was the portal, the gateway to heavens, as shah-r Hashemayim and all of our Tifilos fly to Jerusalem, to the Harabayah and up into heaven. So I call it Shbarchel through that portal and the Redak further delivering this message a beautiful idea I heard from Rab-Shmuel-i-Stein. The Redak actually says this in his Sefer Hashir-Rashim, which, etymologically speaking, gives us the root of each Jewish Hebrew word, biblical words. And Az-Zarah, which was the courtyard in the base Hamidish, unbeknownst to many, actually comes from the word Azar, to help, to aid, to abet, because that was the spot that we could pray and it would enable and help HaGadosh-Boruch, who would help us to be heard, for our Tifilos to be accepted. Ki-basey-base Tifila is what we are missing. We should cry and we should crave because we need the help in our Tifila, we need the clarity when we go to base Hakk-e-Ses. What was Harabayah? It was a basey-base Tifila. It was a house of prayer with clarity, with closeness, with divine attributes, in which a private conversation could be had with the Almighty. Perhaps the avayda, the motivation and encouragement today in preparation for Tisha-B'Uv, is to daven with that much more excitement, his laavos to try to make up for what we have lost. And until that, harabayah is in the base, hamigdash falls from the sky and is rebuilt. Bimheira bi-Amenu-Amen, let us be Mikhazik in our Tifila Come on time. Daven-pesuket is Zimmer with a happiness like we're counting money and at least pay attention in the first bracha of Shmona Esrae, and with this maybe it will help speed up the process of rebuilding that holy edifice, the base Hamigdash Bimheira bi-Amenu-Amen.
