The Spring of Redemption: Uncovering Nissan's Gems and the Transformative Power of Bein Hazmanim

Discover the miracles hidden within Chodesh Nissan and how it heralds a season of deliverance. As spring awakens the earth, we eagerly anticipate Pesach, immersing ourselves in the rich tapestry of traditions and meticulous preparations that define this time. Yet, within the blossoming of this month lies another jewel — the period of Ben Hazmanim. Traditionally a restful break for Talmudical scholars, we reveal how it's so much more; it's an opportunity to flourish spiritually and to connect more deeply with our traditions and each other.

Join us as we reflect on the profound insights of the great Ripshach, who transformed the concept of a break into 'Zman HaBeinayim' — a time brimming with potential for growth and engagement in Torah, mitzvot, and acts of kindness. This call is to slow down, honor our parents, and meticulously pass on our Mesorah. We explore how this period is anything but idle, offering a chance to serve Hashem uniquely and rejuvenate our spirits for a life filled with purpose and connection. Tune in as we share how to embrace and maximize the opportunities presented during this time between times.

00:00:02.104 --> 00:00:05.613
Right now we find ourselves in a very unique time period.

00:00:05.613 --> 00:00:10.731
It is the Chodesh Nishan, the month that is the head of the year.

00:00:10.731 --> 00:00:19.853
Chodesh Nishan that comes from the word Nase is a time that is really spiritually incredible.

00:00:19.853 --> 00:00:21.963
Miraculous things can happen.

00:00:21.963 --> 00:00:24.567
It's the time of deliverance.

00:00:24.567 --> 00:00:35.729
We find ourselves in the springtime, the Chodesh Ha'aviv, and counting down the days and cleaning our houses in preparation for the holiday of Pesach.

00:00:35.729 --> 00:01:03.633
But not to be remiss, there is something else going on right now and that is Ben Hazmanim, which is kind of like spring break for the Talmudical scholars and actually young male and female students around the world, when they will come home, return for the holiday, return for Pesach, take a break from their studies, kind of rest up, rejuvenate, take a vacation.

00:01:03.633 --> 00:01:17.567
But it should be noted that the great Ripshach would not call this time between semesters bein azmanim, but rather, citing King Solomon, that eis lebchois, ve'eis lezchois.

00:01:17.567 --> 00:01:23.920
There's a time to plant and a time to harvest, a time to cry and a time to laugh, a time to live, a time to die.

00:01:23.920 --> 00:01:24.429
There's always an ace.

00:01:24.429 --> 00:01:24.953
There's always a time to cry and a time to laugh.

00:01:24.953 --> 00:01:25.010
A time to live, a time to die.

00:01:25.010 --> 00:01:25.257
There's always an ace.

00:01:25.257 --> 00:01:36.284
There's always a time for something, but there is absolutely no time that doesn't have some goal, some objective and a time between.

00:01:36.284 --> 00:01:38.790
It's just unheard of.

00:01:39.560 --> 00:01:43.447
Sir Adar Abshah would call Benazmanim the Zman HaBenayim.

00:01:43.447 --> 00:01:53.831
It's a time between times that is a perfect opportunity for so many gatherings of Torah and mitzvos.

00:01:53.831 --> 00:02:05.682
There are so much that we can accomplish over a Zeman HaBeinayim In the areas of Bein Adom, lechavero unprecedented opportunities, unrivaled opportunities to honor your parents In the areas of Unprecedented opportunities.

00:02:05.682 --> 00:02:23.586
Unrivaled opportunities To honor your parents To do mitzvos slower and more properly, more meticulously than ever, to slow down and to rejuvenate and give over the mesorah perfectly In the tradition, as a great father or mother In the mitzvah of chinuch.

00:02:24.542 --> 00:02:49.384
The Zeman HaBeinayim is not just a time of vacation, of nothingness for idleness, stillness and nothingness only leads to sin but rather the Z'man HaBeinayim, reb Shach told us, is a ripe and proper time to engage in opportunities to serve Hashem in different ways that you never had the opportunity to engage in before.

00:02:49.384 --> 00:03:04.670
You rest up, you gather yourself, you rejuvenate yourself and you fulfill all the mitzvot that come your way, because it's a perfect time between times.

00:03:04.670 --> 00:03:12.920
That is one of the major principles that we should keep in mind during this Zeman HaBeinayim the time between times.

00:03:12.920 --> 00:03:26.818
Thank you.
