SHABBOS CHAZON: THE PROPHET EXPOSES THE TRUTH

Today, we invite you to join us as we voyage through the echoes of the prophets, deciphering their urgent call for the Israelites to reconnect with their Creator and mend their paths. We'll unravel the reasons behind our collective loss and how we can rebuild what we yearn for with divine guidance.

We'll also illuminate the teachings of the Holy Ramchal, exploring the idea of contemplation and its crucial role in our lives. Prepare to journey into a world veiled in mystery, where free will is an enigma, and the path to Torah and spirituality is hidden beneath complexity. Only through thoughtful contemplation can we fan the flames of our faith, realize our true purpose, and unlock the goodness that life has to offer. Don't miss this thought-provoking conversation as we learn to seize control, appreciate life's blessings, and ponder our existence.

Speaker 1:

Tonight we begin that very uniquely titled Shabbos of Shabbos Chazain, which in English translates to mean the Shabbos of Vision, this week, the Shabbos. It earns that title from the first word of the Haftairah, the last of the Tullosa de Purana, as the Torah calls them, the three Haftauros in which the prophets are rebuking the Israelites to return to their Creator and to fix their ways. This is the Shabbos, the Haftairah that always immediately precedes Tisha Be'av and jutting forth and really glaring out to the Jewish people In the third verse. Here is the idea and the word why we lost it all, and if we can, with the Almighty's help, internalize this word and what is behind it, well then perhaps we will be so, to do some good, to rebuild that base, a make-dash that we so badly craved. Aks knows its Creator and a donkey knows where to find its food, but the Israelites do not know their God and they do not contemplate low hisbonon. They are not misplaining, that's it. Revolva expands on this idea. They just didn't think. We just don't contemplate the Derich Eitchem from the Ramchal. The Holy Ramchali tells us that, in order for Akhothish Baruch to create a world in which has free will, things can't be clear. The world is created in a way that is veiled, it is hidden, in which we have free will to decide what to do. And the Torah and goodness and mitzvos they're laying underneath it, just like a coal, like there's a little bit of a small little flame, but it's not clear to all. But what will flame? What will fan this coal to turn into this burgeoning and massive bonfire of Torah? And Ruchneis, says the Ramchal in Derich Eitchem, his binenus thinking and contemplating oh there is a God, oh there's a Son. Who created the Son? Oh, look, there's a point of life. I have a brain, I have a family. It's all about his binenus thinking. It seems like perhaps even a donkey or an ox could outstigh a human being in this idea, for they know animals, know the basic understanding of where to get things that they need and the basic processes of life. But a Jewish person, but any person that's alive, if they just overlook why they're on this earth, for they do not contemplate or think for a second, make a hejbon, well then they are even lower than an animal. God forbid. His binenus is the key that unlocks all of the goodness. His binenus is what makes a person want to say whoa, there's a Torah and I want to know more. His binenus is what so badly 2023 erodes from society. I never even heard a muster schmooze from any of my Roshay Yeshivas about the immorality that you'll find on the internet or the phone. It's always about just the waste of time and the numbing of the senses to never, ever, think about what's going on in life. Tich Baralava, avaida, the Ait T'ahara just wants to distract us. This is the week that we grab back the reins on our lives in order to say enough's enough. I'm gonna think I'm gonna be misplining, because when you think about life and you think about what Hashem does for you and you think about what your parents do for you and did for you, and you think about what your spouse does for you and you think about what the Torah is and you think about what a mitzvah is and you think about what the next world is, and you just think, well, then good things happen and chuva is done. We lost it all because Yisrael lo yodah ami lo hisponon. We were not properly contemplating and thinking.
